All new members applying for either
REALTORŪ membership or MLS Only Access are required to
attend a New Member Orientation program. This
requirement must be fulfilled within 2 times orientation is
offered after submitting a
New Member or MLS Only application. Failure to
complete this requirement within the two times orientation
is offered will result in
termination of membership.
New Member Orientation covers topics
necessary for you, as a REALTORŪ, to conduct yourself
professionally and ethically. An overview of BCAR, the
Member's Only website, Governmental Affairs and the MLS is
given to help you better understand how BCAR works.
There is no cost for Orientation and
lunch is included too! The Orientation program is
held at the Association Office (101 Stone Chimney Road,
Supply) in order to give our new members an opportunity to
visit our beautiful offices, meet the staff and view our
banquet facilities (that are available to rent with a
member's discount).
Orientation begins promptly at 8:30AM and
will end around 4:00PM. You will automatically be
signed up for the next available New Member Orientation
session after submitting your paperwork.
REALTORŪ Membership
Prior to attending the New Member
Orientation program, you are requested to complete a Code of Ethics
course. This requirement must be completed
within 90 days of application. This course is offered for free by the
National Association of REALTORSŪ. Continuing
Education credit is NOT awarded for the NAR online course,
but this does apply for
your NAR
Quadrennial requirements. You will need to have
your NRDS # to login and take this course.
If you are applying for MLS Only
membership, you are required to attend the afternoon portion
of Orientation only. This focuses strictly on the MLS
and not BCAR Member topics. The afternoon portion of
Orientation begins around 1PM - but please join us for lunch
at 12:00 noon first!
