LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Boiling Spring Lakes (BSL)

The citizens elected a new mayor and a new commissioner, who with one other current commissioner, have decided that the current draft of the Red Cockaded Woodpecker (RCW) is a burden to the citizens of BSL.  BCAR had asked NCAR for $10,000 from the NCAR Issues Mobilization Fund to perform a legal review of the draft Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP).  NCAR and BCAR previously provided $7,500 to BSL to obtain a grant from the federal government to assist in writing the HCP.  BCAR made a decision, based on the new leadership's comments in print at their regularly scheduled ...

President's Message

Our theme this year will be “BCAR On The Rise – Looking Up & Moving Forward”.

Our industry has certainly experienced some dark days in the past couple of years.  However, many economic indicators are beginning to point to brighter days ahead, hence our tag line for 2010.  I appreciate the opportunity to help lead this association into the brighter days of 2010 and want you to know that success will only be possible with the support of you – the membership of our Association.  Together we can make a difference in our own lives and businesses as well as the consumers and communities we serve.

  • Humana 2010 Plan Review meetings held in the education room
  • BCAR New Member Orientation
  • Brunswick Community Hospital’s Christmas Party held here for the second year.
  • BCAR 2010 Committee Chair Presentation
  • BCAR GMM luncheon meeting.
  • Sheriff’s Fundraiser
  • Dosher Hospital’s Physician Christmas Party.  They already booked the event for 2010.
  • St. James Plantation Employee Christmas Party.
